Man, could you imagine WebTrends being acuired by Omniture?? That would have left a strange market place…
One really wonders, though, what the management plans are. And whther Francisco Partners are just hoping to get their money back by selling WT. It’s a pity, with all the recent efforts in expanding the product portfolio in numbers and especially quality.

Jacques,
I am a bit concerned about the future for innovation and competition. I’d like to see some players increase their efforts.
It’d be scary if SAP would buy a web analytics company. They’d do no better than SPSS did with NetGenesis, I’m afraid.
Cheers,
Lars

Hi Lars,
I understand your concerns, but I think that there are still a few players that can do something to keep competition up and running. You have WebTrends and Unica that will continue fighting. The fact that Omniture has bought VS means that someone as IndexTools will be more and more considered by corporations and to be honest they have an excellent value for money proposition. I know that SAS is preparing a comeback in the field… and who knows maybe a newcommer will pop-up some day
Cheers,
