Former WebTrends CMO Joins ExactTarget
Tim Kopp, formerly CMO for WebTrends and global interactive marketing VP for Coca-Cola, is joining ExactTarget.
I personally think one of the biggest challenges for ExactTarget, and all other email marketing vendors, is the shift from communicating via email to communicating through social networking websites.
I also got the opportunity to ask Tim a couple of questions about his new job.
What will you be doing?
I’ll be joining as Chief Marketing Officer.
What are you looking forward to the most?
I’ve often talked about the consumer centric marketing approach of “listen, learn, take action”. Marketers obviously have the the most compelling opportunity to deliver tangible ROI on the take action piece of this framework. ExactTarget does a phenomenal job of delivering ROI by giving companies of all sizes an open marketing platform to deliver targeted messages to the right person at the right time in the right channel. I’m really looking forward to telling the stories of how our open platform is able to deliver these messages using email, voice, and landing pages with open APIs that easily connect to other existing systems in an integrated fashion.
