Web Analytics in Singapore (Asia, Part VI)

September 21st, 2007 by Lars Johansson

Gary Gopinathan, an e-business and multimedia consultant with over 10 years of experience, answers three questions about web analytics in Singapore. He founded G S Quantum Multimedia and conducts regular workshops in the Asia-Pacific region, particularly in Australia, India and Malaysia.

What’s the biggest challenge for web analytics in Singapore?

We need more web marketers with a marketing background and technical know-how. We also need continuous education and web analytics needs to be applied to marketing more often. We need to conduct more online experiments and prove the value of web analytics to further improve web strategies and conversion rates.

How mature do you think the market for web analytics is in Singapore?

Web analytics is just starting to get awareness and understanding. It’s being viewed as important at this moment. GSQM has conducted various workshops to showcase and allow corporate marketers to understand web analytics much better.

What are the most popular web analytics vendors in Singapore?

Google and WebTrends.

Web Analytics Tuesday in Stockholm, September 11, 2007

September 20th, 2007 by Lars Johansson

The event had participants from six countries and was a lot of fun. All 85 seats were taken (we only found out the same evening that there were five extra chairs and unfortunately a few people on the waiting list never got a seat).

We started off by networking over a glass of champagne while Eric T. Peterson was getting ready to give his “Web Analytics is Easy” presentation.

His presentation was great. It had a fast pace, lots of energy and passion. Oh yeah, and the clever RAMP (Resources, Analysis, Multivariate testing and Process).

Then it was time for our expert panel consisting of:

Steve Jackson, Satama
Eric T. Peterson, Web Analytics Demystified
Jonas Damgaard Nielsen, Omniture

The audience members were encouraged to ask questions and we gave away two books from Avinash (plus an additional copy I picked up) and three books from Eric.
